As a female owned business in the male dominated construction and demolition industry, Demo Diva Demolitions has made its mark on the New Orleans business scene. Like many others in the city, Bruni had to reinvent herself after Hurricane Katrina. Following the storm, she saw the city’s need for a reliable local demolition company, and entered the market with a uniquely female brand that stood out from the bland marketing usually associated with the construction industry. Ms. Bruni’s presentation, “Down to the Dirt,” elaborated on the entrepreneur’s journey from having “only a few hundred hot pink yard signs” to owning her own fleet of heavy equipment, and competing for major contracts against the big guys in her industry.
