Woman of the Year Rachel Nunez – March Luncheon

American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) Crescent City Connections 2016 Award Ceremony and Member Appreciation Day was help on March 10, 2016  from 11:00 -1:00 at Ralph Brennan’s Heritage Grill.  

LaCapitale chapter president, Yvonne Dupont, presented the awards and spoke about the importance of recognition in ABWA.

The ABWA Protege Award was given to members in good standing who have been a member for at least 1 year and attended at least 10 meetings within that time. They should also have served in a leadership position in ABWA, sponsored a new member and/or completed a WIN course through ABWA.  In our first year of existence, the Crescent City Connections (CCC) chapter of ABWA had an unprecedented 11 women who qualified for this honor. The honorees were: Leslie Adams, Jodi Archer, Jeanne Bergeron, Wendy Dolan, Christi Felder, Kim Hasney, Amy Landry, Angie LeBlanc,  Carol Newman, Rachel Nunez,  and Gail Varuso,

The Woman of the Year Award was awarded to league resident Rachel Nunez of Regions Bank. It is one of the most prestigious honors bestowed upon a member.  In addition, to the above criteria, which includes sponsoring at least 3 individuals in the organization, they must also earn at least 50 points on a stringent rating chart used to evaluate candidates. CCC chapter had 2 members who qualified for this important award.

We also celebrated our members with a token of our appreciation.
