Our December 8th luncheon will feature Peggy Scott Laborde, senior producer for the New Orleans PBS station, WYES-TV and local historian.
Since 1987, Laborde has been the senior producer for WYES-TV, where she has developed, produced, and hosted over forty five documentaries and in-studio productions about New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, including “Where New Orleans Shopped,” “The Lost Restaurants of New Orleans,” “The French Quarter That Was,” “Mardi Gras: The Passing Parade,” and “Holy New Orleans!” among others. Laborde’s “New Orleans Restaurants With A Past” won a regional Emmy. Laborde also produces and hosts Steppin’ Out, New Orleans’ only weekly arts and entertainment review program, now in its 30th season.
Laborde is a founding member of the Tennessee William/New Orleans Literary Festival and was its president for over a decade. She is the co-author of the books, “Canal Street: New Orleans Great Wide Way,” “Christmas in New Orleans” and “Lost Restaurants of New Orleans,” “Mardi Gras Moments” and the brand new “Fair Grounds Through The Lens”, all published by Pelican. Laborde will be speaking about this most recent project as well as Tricentennial plans, and her time providing coverage for the Rex ball. This is our annual holiday luncheon featuring plentiful door prizes and a signature cocktail!
