The American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) welcomed Brian Greffenius of Sandler Training as the speaker for the April networking luncheon on April 9th 2015 from 11:00 -1:00 at Ralph Brennan’s Heritage Grill (111 Veterans Blvd) in New Orleans.
Effective relationships are a key factor to success in both our professional and personal lives. We all know that we can’t please “all of the people all of the time,” but it can be frustrating when our personalities do not mesh with coworkers and business prospects. Brian Greffenius reminded us that when we face such challenges, it’s important to ask, “Who am I talking with?”
“Avoid aggravation by not assuming that your values are represented in the people you’re dealing with. Think about the people who frustrate you and seek to understand them.” -Brian Greffenius
His talk addressed the variety of personality types we encounter in professional situations, and presented effective tools for best addressing those individuals. Greffenius encouraged attendees to plot their own personality using the DISC personality test, in order to better understand how we function in interpersonal interactions. You can take the test here.
